Roxbourne Medical Centre is pleased to share details of a special community event designed to support Romanian women living in Harrow. Taking place on Thursday, 5 March at Victoria Hall (10am–2pm), the event celebrates Spring, Romanian Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day, while also offering vital public‑health information in the context of the current measles outbreak in North London. With a Romanian‑speaking NHS GP leading a dedicated vaccination Q&A session funded by NHS England, women will have the chance to ask questions openly and receive clear, culturally appropriate guidance on childhood and maternal immunisations — including the MMR vaccine.
In addition to the health‑focused sessions, the event provides a range of wellbeing and practical support activities delivered in Romanian, including women’s health education, gentle movement sessions, employability support for migrant women, free express manicures, refreshments, traditional cakes, and pampering bags for all attendees. The aim is to create a safe, welcoming space that reduces barriers related to language, trust and navigating NHS services. Women are welcome to attend the morning session, afternoon session, or stay for the full programme depending on availability.
