Welfare Advice Officer Service

Roxbourne Medical Centre is pleased to introduce the new Welfare Advice Officer Service, delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice Harrow. This service brings expert, non‑medical support directly into our primary care setting to help patients whose practical or social challenges may be affecting their health. By providing multilingual advice, training for GP practices, and close links with local Family Hubs, the service aims to improve patient wellbeing, reduce inequalities, and make it easier for individuals to access the right help at the right time.

Patients can receive confidential guidance on a wide range of issues, including debt and money worries, housing challenges, benefits and employment concerns, family or immigration matters, consumer issues, and more—helping to ease pressures that can impact health and day‑to‑day life. By embedding this support within the practice, our team and the Welfare Advice Officer can work closely together to offer timely, holistic care. Roxbourne Medical Centre looks forward to collaborating with the Citizens Advice team to ensure our patients can access this valuable new service locally.
